    Rusty particles in oil

Hi, changed oil on my ski and got some rusty micro bits in the oil..

Now to syphon out the oil I'm using a vacuum system that uses a steel lined flexible pipe so could it be that???

Can any thing of rusted in a oil filled engine? Run well at 77mph last time I used it....

Seams strange but should I change it again or should I check something?

    Thanks ian

The last filter I changed seams to be clean so I'm thinking it may just be my suction tube.....

Oil ain't abnormally black or anything

I can't seam to see how anything could possibly rust in a oil filled engine...

I tend to agree with you; could be the steel tube.
Do you ride in salt water a lot?

It is likely you vacuum system. Try sucking up some water with it and see if those rust specks appear.
I am certain your oil filter would capture those rust specks if it were present in the oil.

That's what it's got to be..now that you mention using to siphon water! Those cables won't last long using it for that.
