Thread: Prop Question

Last night I swapped out my stock prop for a 15/22. I did not check to see how free the stock prop spun in the pump, but how free should it spin? With my new one in there I can move it with my hand but as soon as I take remove my hand the prop stops. Does this sound normal or should the prop keep spinning freely for a few seconds after I spin it? My ski only has 17 hours on it and everything looked great inside the pump. I am just wondering if I possibly over tightened the allen for the prop, or my pump bearings may be going south. Thanks everyone.

Solas props are little bigger than stocks,so thats why it does not spin freely!
You will be fine!

Did you torque the impeller to 92-95ftlbs? They don't free spin. They spin a hair better with oil in the pump, but not much. Make sure you either start the ski in the water the first time or spray some SD lube inside the pump. You may toast the wear ring, if you don't.
