    Pressure testing

Does anyone know where I can find information about pressure testing an engine. Where can I purchase a tester?

What engine are you testing? Lowell makes test kits for the GPR, other motors require some improvisation to seal them up and test. Basically you have to plug the intake, exhaust and pulse nipples. pump 10 PSI in and monitor it for pressure drop over 10 minutes. 1-2 pound drop in 10 minutes is acceptable.

Yes actually. I was reminded of his kit a few days ago when I saw him post in the Looking for a reliable ski in the $4-5k range thread

I built a pressure tester like adam's. As soon as the cylinders come back from the judge I will reassemble the engine. Should I coat the base and head gaskets with copper spray before it install them? Also can I reuse the intake manifold gasket if it is in good shape?

I'm gonna need to do this to my engine here shortly. How his setup work? Is it a big piece of rubber that bolts up in between the exhaust manifold and the cylinders. And then 3 plugs in the intake manifold without the carbs mounted up. then plug up 2 pulse lines and pump air in the third one.
If so, sounds pretty easy. Where did you get the plugs and rubber from??

For the exhaust manifold I cut a piece of innertube. The rubber plugs for the intake manifold are old school freeze plugs for car engines. I am getting them from napa. They are just a rubber plug with two washers and a bolt through the middle. If it leaks I will start spraying seals and gaskets with wonder bubbles. (Kids bubbles)
