The cost of getting a 1.8L supercharged motor is going to be hella expensive, I'd watch Jerry's results with his VXR and follow suit.

Somehow I get the feeling he will have forced induction at some point...

Hi Nasser, welcome to the forum.

I can get new engines as they pop up from time to time when new skis get damaged and they are parted out.
Typically a new FZR engine complete with supercharger, wire harness, all electronics and dash will cost $6950

Let me know if you want one and I can put you on the list.

Estimate $5,000-$7,000 just for a (new) stock motor. If it is not a turnkey motor then you need the intercooler, Supercharger, etc so add about $4,000.
You might luck out on a used motor, but of course then you have no idea what condition it is in and if you are wise you will have it rebuilt with updated internals. Add another $3,000-$5,000 for the labor and parts for that assuming balanced rotating assembly, Carrillo rods, pistons, etc.
Then if it is not a turnkey motor you need a harness and ECU and dash as well so add another $3,000, more if you are not using a stock ECU.

    Roughly $14,000-$19,000

Best bet is to be on the pulled motor waiting list which I was supposedly on a year ago with Riva.

Will do and just so it is clear for anyone else I was not working through Jerry when I was trying to get one. My mistake obviously.

Or you could modify the NA 1.8L motor that comes in the VXR so it mocks the supercharged 1.8L motor that's in the FZ/SHO. The majority of the parts needed to "upgrade" can be found in the classifieds section. You will need several parts on the intake side, but in the end you won't be spending nearly the kind of coin that's mentioned above.

That's what I was talking about, I think it'd be easier and cheaper, providing you know how to build a motor... plus you know some bad arse parts are going in that can handle the power...

I wish it were that easy guys. The NA motor is lacking some of the important oil galleys that are present on the SC engines. If you want to supercharge it then you need the SHO motor. If you plan to turbo the ski then the NA motor can be built up accordingly.
