    Rrruff Ride

I went out today and the water was a little choppy and so was the ride.. sometimes I would hit the water and it would almost seem like the hull was gonna break and it would hurt my feet, legs, arms.. eveything. It would jar my whole body standing up or sitting down.. How can I get a smoother ride?

So are you saying a need a bigger boat weight wise or length wise? Is there anything else that would help a little?

the only thing I know about the venture is that it is speed limited... Ive seen a friend ride one on the rivers here from glass to light chop with no issues, and it was stock... maybe ask the folks over in the old school ski`s ... sorry I couldn`t be more helpful, but yes a bigger boat in length and width always handles mo better IMHO...

I bought a pair of 95 WaveVentures early last year. By the end of the year I was totally addicted and wanted something better so I found an "old stock" zero hour 09 FZR, for a good price, so I know *exactly* what you mean by taking a pounding! When I went on the the ocean with the WV, I really got beat up. The other problem is that since I'm tall, in order to stand up, I really had to bend over to hold onto the low handle bars on the Venture's. That position was uncomfortable and tiring. With the FZR, the foot wells are deeper, I stand lower on the ski and the steering is adjustable and can telescope upwards so I can stand comfortably when needed. Since it's 200 lbs heaver, it deals with the waves better, has adjustable trim which can help deal with different conditions and last the seat is way more comfortable.

So like I said, probably not what you want to hear. The WV's are a lot of fun and a great start.

Probably not too much. The only thing that might help a little bit is to add a "trim" system. I think the Wave Raiders had them. I don't think any of the WV have it (I know mine don't), but am not sure. Does yours? What the trim does is let you direct the output nozzle up or down. If you are riding on some really big chop, you can point the nose down so that it rides flatter. However you will get much wetter. It might be possible to retrofit something from the Raider, but I don't really know. Also I don't know if you put a Splash Guard on the front of your ski or not, but that really helps keep the splashing down considerably and will give you a drier ride.
