    09 fxho?

Im shopping for a multiuse ski right now and trying to decide between new and used... Im looking at either fxho or ultra lx new. I also found a 2009 fxho with 20 hours and 4k less than a new pwc. Will the 09 be capable of pulling a wakrboarder or tube easily or should I stick with newer bigger motors... I dont want supercharged. Thanls

If I remember correctly the 09 has a 1.8l engine. Unless you are carrying 3 adults and towing at the same time I don't see why it would have a problem.

My 07 FX HO (1052cc) had plenty of power to do whatever I wanted to.

I believe the the 09 has the 1052 cc... Did you tow wakeboarders with yours?

    correct.
And there's no difference between the 09's, '10s and '11s FXHOs except for a couple of changes in the colors available each year.....so if you can find a good, clean 09 for a good price, go for it!!
The 1.8 motor is Yamaha's second most powerful (behind the supercharged version of the same motor in the SHO and the FZR)
I have 2 '10 FXHO Cruisers---love 'em--not as fast as the SHO but much better gas mileage

09 has the 1800cc. My 2007 FX HO with the 1052cc towed fine. 160 hp is plenty of power to do so. I have also towed people just fine with the vx110 (110 hp)

Boats twice the size and weight tow all day long with the same level of power.

On the other hand, your ski probably will not produce the wake your towee is looking for.

In that case, I would definitely try to pull the price down more.

The 2008 was the only model year with the bulletproof MR1 engine and the NanoExcel hull, It's the best of both worlds, you won't find a lighter FX HO model ever! I love mine! and it has more than enough power to pull a wakeboarder, I've been pulled on one behind it...
