i just got a rxp myself, is it pretty self explanitory todo it yourself, or are any extra tools needed?

Yea its real simple. There is a how to somewhere here if u ask or search you will find it.
    Warm it up.
    Drain it.
    Change filter.
    Replace oil.
Run and check, level out the ski.

    That's it.
The only special tool you need is an oil extractor. I got mine at west marine for $40. Love it works great and I have used it for other things as well. Great tool to own!

Basically there isn't a drain bolt so you suck the oil out through the dip stick! Pump up the extractor and let it do its job. In a few minutes it sucks out all the oil into the extractor container. Simple.

the shop i was in would charge about 60$, considering the fact they had to pull my boat out on the trailler and change the oil.
but i never really had a 60$ bill, it was always in the mid 200$'s because i always kept adding something or changing parts.
Now im looking to buy an oil pump as i now own some machenery also neding it, (could do without but it would be easyer)
like lawnmower, my Challenger 180 ( no longer at the marina) and the 06 rxp.

Do you need to replace the O-ring every time when you change the oil? I see the sell a kit with oil, filter, plugs, and o-rings.

I bought the oil extractor found in GH's online store and it works great. I also purchase the maint. kit, as stated in Dread's quote above, annually and take care of it myself. Based on what my stealership used to charge, I'd say I'm way ahead of the game.

Well I might let the dealer do the first one for the 10hr maintenance for warranty reasons just in case not to mention I'd have to take it there anyway for them to disable the 10hr reminder.
