Is there a way to activate "limp" mode (e.g. a jumper wire) to limit rpm?

I have younger kids. Is there a way to activate "limp" mode (e.g. a jumper wire) to limit rpm? Is there any harm in doing this? Can it be done without flashing the warning light so the warning systems remain functional?

    Welcome to the Hulk

    1995 SL 750?

There is no RPM limiter feature showing on the wring diagram for the 1995 SL 750.

Is there a Tan or Gray wire coming out of the CDI module inside the electrical box? If not, there is no easy way to add an RPM limiter, other than possibly with the installation of a different model of CDI you could manually invoke RPM limiting with a toggle switch.

Younger kids? Are they old enough to legally have control of a PWC?

Adjust the throttle cable so it doesn't open the carbs all the way, or put a block behind the trigger. Ideally, you don't want to be riding the ski up against the limiter...it will just be dumping excess fuel the entire time.

Sorry my profile was wrong. 1994 SL 750. I have to check the legal age, but we have access to a small private lake (sand pit). Does the 1995 750 have the limiter? Also, considering PolarisNut's comment, how does the limiter actually accomplish the limiting? Maybe the cable adjustment is a better choice, but I was looking for something easy to swap back and forth.

The 750 does not have a rev limitier below 6700 RPM or "limp mode"

Polarisnut's idea is great for what you're looking to do.

Maybe hose clamp a block behind the throttle as a stop. That can be installed and removed with a flat blade screw driver easily.

The CDI cuts the spark in and out to keep the rpm in the desired window. So you have cycles where the fuel blows in and out of the motor, and isn't burned...I could see it creating a sludgy mess in the exhaust, along with excessive smoking, when run for extended periods of time. It doesn't sound like your ski has a limiter anyway, so its a moot point.
