    R&D Tailcone Spacer Installed

Looks OK, the ring is a few .000 bigger than a couple of places around the pump. I may clean those spots up a bit before I hit the water.

Can anyone think of a reasson why I could not put oil in the tail cone??
Maybe keep the grease and add some oil to cover the bearings?

    Thanks

    David

Can't wait to hear the results. It would be amazing to see how .2 of an inch could make a difference. I would think the spacer would need to be between .2 and .5 so it equals the gap created from adding a wedge. (2 degree is a .5 gap).

does the pump cone spacer let the pump cone get inserted enough so that both o-rings seal properly?

    David,

I would be careful of mixing oil and the bearing grease. The reaction may be counter productive as far as lubricating.

Go with some 75W90 gear oil. That's what I have in my cone.

I think I am going to go to the gear oil.

I am going to messure the distance but I do believe there is enough to get to both O rings.

I wonder if a tail cone with a fill hole would swap out?

I have had a little spin on the bottom end and hope the spacer helps with it.

Also they do make another cone that I think is about 2 times as thick as mine.

    ?

what exactly will this item do to a ski when installed?

it should increase top speed but take away a little of the low end. It will increase water pressure and make it come out at a higher speed.

Pretty much like putting on a smaller venturi

I think R&D says it gives you about 1 to .5 mph

I think it also will lower your rpm's about 50
