    how much is too much oil in 780 carbs?

    hhi guys and gals, i am in the process of rebuilding the carbs. and when i took off the cover to look at the diapham, and took it out a lot of oil came out. the ski has a stumble at about 1/3 throttle and it does smoke more than my other ski. they are both 95 slt's one is a 750 and the other is a 780. any help in this matter would be much apreched. thanks in advance

    There should be no significant amount of liquid oil inside the carburetor (the carb internals, not the carb throat). Some gasoline, but not oil.

    where the oil dumps is right into the carbs. next to the needle and seat

    you'll always have alittle oil and gas laying under the diaphram no big deal

    i did alittle more digging and found that the pto and center carbs was very full and the mag had very little. so looks like i need to take a look at the oil pump and lines

    You sure that 780 isn't a 96? I didn't think they made slt 780 in 95.
    Is the linkage still attached to the carbs from the oil pump? If not it will oil at full output which may be too much when idling

    according to the spread sheet k447 sent they didn't. but i just got the ski last year who knows what happened before i got it. i have had a bunch of problems with it. the drive shaft seal leaked,the engine cradle was broken into,broken motor mount,prop was bad, had it repaired by a local shop and they f;ked it up more but now that i got all that stuff fixed it has a little bog at 1/4 to 1/3 throttle so i thought i would take a look at the carbs to see about dailing this ski in. that has been what has lead me to this point.

    i am sure it's a 95 i have an other one. i have the serial numbers of both skies how do you tell from that?
