    rear intake

i was looking through 4-tecperformance and i saw a rear intake kit and i was curious if it was worth the money, because i do surf riding and racing,
and i dont want to build my own 4 in intake kit, i afraid i might mess it up, but right now my ski is stock and i tops out right at 70.2 mph thats gps, i know all you guy on the forum are hitin 66-69 mph. im a spead freak on a budget, and i want to hit 75 before the end of the year. if someone could help me find mods that arent too expensive, or know of any please let me know. thank you

From what i've been told the rear intake is well worth the money(Keep in mind Riva has'nt released it yet) but it has been tested. alot of guys run the 4" intake with great results. If you read back you'll find a million different post listing all kind of different options on Mods and free speed, Search is your friend. Enjoy the process..
A good start would be a stage I++ from Jerry(Water Intake grate,Prop,Air intake and rear exhaust) You'll find on some post exactly what was gained from these various mods so you can choose what's right for you.

    Good luck,

    Alex

Hey Jerry, since the rear intake thing has popped back up, any word yet on when these will be actually coming out? I ordered mine from you a few weeks back when the expected release was mid November. I saw a week or two ago that it was looking like mid December. Is that still the case?

    Thanks!

I now the rear intake pulls fresh air into the sc but wouldent pulling the air out of the hood get you the same results? Jerry any advise.

the difference is the length the air has to travel before it gets to the sc. the longer the distance the more friction is created. typically you will see about 1lb of boost difference between a hood intake and a rear intake. the shorter the better.

If you do a lot of surf riding i would not recommend a rear intake.

I got 1 psi more boost with a 4" rear air versus a 4" front air intake.

Thats impressive that it affects your boost by 1psi Jerry. I'm working on a very nice setup for my RXT.

Now that i remember, where can i get a sheet of prefilter material?
