98 760 waverunner stator replacement?
can this be done in the hull without pulling motor? if so what will i have to pull the carbs?this is a three seater seems to be ample room to change it out.

yes its possible ..the carbs wont matter... the stater is mounted in the cover plate.. you wont have to fight getting a flywheel off..

you should buy a yami service manuel ( nice to have around for this stuff).. the fitting would be to grease the starter bushing if so equipped(not all have them)..a light bearing grease should surfice..dont go overboard with greasing ,should only need a teaspoon full or so at a time and them by maintainence intervals..

thanks for the info got the stator comming now an hope it will be a quick install,do you recon i need to replace the cover gasket or can i get away with rtv?

idealy if there was a gasket in there you best bet would be to replace it...the gasket adds a specific thickness in which the yami engineers have prob figured in for the stator to ride centered properly..I have seen them rtv'd but is it worth the risk of getting a winding stuck by the flywheel?? ..be an easy one to cut out of typical thickness gasket material (paper)
