Flood mode on a boat question

    I have a 04 Sportster.

While changing oil the manual states I should hold the throttle open (flood mode) and crank the engine so I can get more oil out bla bla bla. How can I do this on a boat? Throttle canít be apply on a boat unless the shifter is in Forward position. At the same time the boat cant be started or cranked unless the shifter is on neutral. So technically I cant apply throttle while cranking the engine. Iím I missing something?

I had disconnect the ignition module so I could crank the engine without starting it..

reach into the engine bay on hold the throttle body fully open. Then reach WAAAAAY back or have a 2nd person crank the engine with the starter button
