    Life jacket impact rating

I am looking at a new Jet Pilot life vest for my PWC and I cannot find any info on the impact rating for it. If someone has the life vest or knows where I can check the impact rating please let me know I am hoping its 100mph. Thanks

My understanding is the 100mph rating has nothing to do with impact protection. According to a Coast Guard review on the Mustang jacket I bought the @ 100mph rating only applies in the sense that it will not tear loose from your body at that speed.

That is my understanding as well. By "impact rating" I meant that the jacket won't rip off at 100 or under.

Yeah, after reading this last night I searched around and kept seeing the rating refered to as "impact". I suppose they just mean impact with the water. Hope to never find out! I did see under the "Safety" section here that if it is not prominently displayed, it is not 100mph rated. Good luck with your hunt.

My current vest which has the same zipper + 2 buckles design is rated at 50mph so the new Jet Pilot vest is likely the same. I'll look around more and see if I can get anymore info.

I just bought a 100mph rated Mustang, don't remember the model. It has 3 buckle in addition to the zipper and a collar. About $70 on amazon. It does seem small (shorter in the torso) for a medium, but I am right on according to the size chart. Maybe the 100mph vests fit differently?
