    EFI Controller Recommendations?

    2005 gp1300r

Looking to get a efi controller. Anyone know pros/cons with i guess R&D or Riva. The riva is alot cheaper.

Also where is the best place to purchase? If anyone has one for sale let me know. Thanks

Use the Riva clear up to a modded/ported 1300 motor, use the R&D with 1390.

    +1 sort of
I had issues with my R&D controller on my 1390 before R&D reprogrammed it for me. On the Riva controller, the low speed(green) fuel setting kicks in at idle rpm, but the R&D doesn't add fuel until it hits slightly higher revs. This was causing my 1390 to bog out if I pulled WOT from a dig until the revs went high enough for the green fuel setting to kick in. They fixed it by adding in a green/blue crossover like the 4-stroke Powershots have, so now I'm able tune it so it adds fuel at idle. He also programmed it to add more fuel in all three fuel settings if I need it.

    Riva -
pros: cheaper, simple & adequate for most setups
cons: lacks the tuneability of the R&D, if you want to change settings you're screwed if you forget your tiny screwdriver, I've been told the R&D provides more fuel on the WOT(red) fuel setting but never tested it back to back myself so can't tell you for sure.

    R&D -
pros: It has 2 crossovers(mine now has 3) compared to 1 on the Riva so it's more fine tuneable, it's reprogrammable, it has buttons to change settings instead of screws so you don't need the little screwdriver
    cons: price

Whichever one you get, it's a good idea to cut off the eyelet for the ground wire & splice in a short length of thicker guage wire with a heat shrink eyelet to prevent corrosion. On mine I took it a step further & soldered the end of the new wire before I crimped it in the connector to keep it from breaking inside. Here's why:
