    Absolutely un F'n real. 2nd gp1200 to blow THIS WEEK! - WTF

    Well the title says it all..... as you may know I am working on the 97 gp1200 that blew the 3rd piston last week - same shit today on the 99, with a brand new top end @ 70 hrs when I bought it last yr. Ran great all last season with the new $1500 engine and rebuilt carbs and pump/ride plate.

    I idled it down a tad bit today before putting it in the water, was perfect idle. Ran GREAT for a good 30 miles, starting and stopping here and there, no problems what so ever.... Then just cut off slowly. Checked the comp. 120lbs on the first 2, 0lbs on the rear.
    This makes me sick to my stomach... I cant even fathom how pissed I am!

    I make just take them and role the 2 and trailer right off the highest cliff I can find, wish I had ins on em!

    Thanks guys.... It does blow big time. One is bad enough then the other in the week. Ive got to have the worst luck ever, just doesnt make any sense!
    Esp with it being a rebuilt engine and new carbs and it running fine last season and even a cpl mths ago when I took it out a cpl times ( yes is was cold as hell out )

    I know if I part them out I could make some bank on 'em, but I dont have the $ to replace get another ski right now. So I really dont know what to do or what I want to do.....
    Right now I am still sick over it lol

    Meant to ask - with them both being torn up. ( havent gotten the 99 apart yet to know for sure the issues )
    If I do decide to fix them both, what really are my best options ?
    I need to really discuss this with some one who knows what theyre talking about as I havent much experience with ski's in general or rebuilding an engine specifics. If any one has the time and wouldnt mind giving me a hand, maybe leave me a # or yahoo or something. I would highly appreciate it TIA!

    I don't want to pour salt on your open wounds but I have 280 hrs on my ported motor and it ran 69.5 the other day in 15 mph winds. The GP's are good and reliable ski's. Did you pressure test after the motor was assembled?

    No worries. Yeah, I agree the GPs are good ski's I love mine....
    I bought this engine, May of last yr. Gave $1526.00 for it. I know I hardly put any hrs on it... maybe 25 total.
    I wish I could see the original Ebay listing, but I can't - Sure there was no guarantee or anything else for that matter.

    Been thinking, not real sure what I want to do....
    But what do you all think I could get for both of them, the way they set and the MFI dbl trailer?

    Well, it appear to be the same thing as the 97, NO IDEA why this one happened. Atleast the others the carbs coulda been @ fault....
    It apparently only had the center piston replaced, not an entire top end as I originally thought.
