Max RPM/Boost on a 4Tec?
I am currently working on a project which will be for top speed and possibly drag racing. I am planning on running high RPM's and boost.
My questions are the following:
What is the most RPM you have seen a 4Tec handle?
What is the most Boost you have seen?
My goal is somewhere around 9.5K RPM+/-
and 35LBS+/- of boost
I realize that there are many variables like the type of fuel that you use and how the timing is set and many other things but just want to know how close to the edge I can run the motor.
What setups have you seen that work and what doesn't work?

im not sure if the stock sleeves will handle 35+ lbs without blowing out a cylinder. A block gaurd will possibly help, but you really need a closed deck solid sleeve to be safe.

I will be running a blockguard.
That is my question though. how much PSI can it handle?

At 35 psi..... your biggest problem is gonna be keeping a head gasket on it

I should have the Head gasket worked out and don't think it should be a problem.
My main concern is RPM really. But also wanted to know the most boost anyone has seen on a 4tec.

i can always O-Ring your head so you won't push coolant. Im actually doing it right now for the motor im building for my ski.
Put it this way, our blocks are almost identical ( except bore size) to any honda B or D series. I have seen them blow stock sleeves apart around 400hp while using a block guard. 35+lbs should be over 500hp.

The block is already O-ringed.
I've seen some Civics put down some serious power like 700+ Horsepower so maybe there was something wrong in the tuninig?

before this im already test 9500 rpm with 1.8bar boost,,
u must have conrod and piston,, expecialy conrod caps screw,,u must costum it,,,

ok, Pistons will be aftermarket and the Connecting rods will be aswell. You mean that I will also need custom screws for the conrods? I will be getting the Carrillo rods, those screws that it comes with any good?
What drivetrain did you have to run at 9.5K?
I'm thinking of going a little over 2.0 bar which is about 29lbs.

My stock b18b block made 420whp for about 6 mo before letting go.....
The most important thing is how much power can a stock block handle. Boost psi doesnt have any bearing on when a engine will Let go....
A better question would be how much power have you made on a stock block?
