Thought I'd revive this thread to see if there may be other sugestions--

I disconnected the linkage from up front. I took a 3 ft section of 5/8 auto hose and slipped it over the linkage as described. I filled it with motor oil. Clamped the air hose and pressured it up. The hose buldged. I waited for it to go down, and was able to add another "hose's worth" of oil-- repeated three times. As I had to refill the hose, oil must have gone into the cable.

I could see grease and finally some oil at the back linkage.

It helped some- but it doesnt move as free as it should. I let it sit over the weekend--- no change.

The nozzle by itself moves freeley. The handlebar by itself moves freeley.

Cable replacement time ? Another suggestion ?

Replace, if you are able to get any oil in at all, it is just a band aid.

easier to go from the bottom - clamp a clear hose over the end - fill with lube and use air to pressurize the oil thru the cable - rotate bars while doing this

There was a note in one of the threads about using an RTX's cable. The two are different different part numbers. Anyone tried the RXT's cable in a GTX (04) ?

Should be the same, Sea Doo went to a thinner cable, might be the difference in part numbers.
