    My stand for the rxpx

Well I have been working on a stand for my ski the past couple days and thought I would share for some feedback (2nd set of eyes) before I finished her up. Spent about $50 on 40' of 1.5" 14 ga square tube. I'm thinking instead of welding the wheels directly to it I may weld them to se flat stock and drill some holes in the frame to make it adjustable. Only concern is the bolts, not sure what grade I should use.

Looks very similiar to a TUF stand. If its anything like Carls stands you dont have anything to worry about, it will hold any ski you put on there. Make sure to post up some pics once you get some wheels and get it painted.

Thanks, and yea it is pretty similar to his stands. I'm also considering adding a receiver type hitch to the one side with a hand winch mounted to it. Easy on easy off, hopefully.

I have 2 TUF stands that I use on my own skis and they are great. I spray the carpeted bunks on my trailer with liquid rollers and some of this sticks to the skis. They go on and off the stands really easy, almost to easy. I use the trailer winch to get them on the trailer, for off loading I strap the stand to the back of the trailer and literally pull them off right on to the stand. After that we wrap a tow strap around the front of the stand and use a come along to get them in the garage (Incline driveway). We can have both skis off the trailer, flushed out, rinsed off, and in the garage in 30 minutes. Im curious about your winch on the stand, id like to see the finished project. Good luck.

That's a really good idea with the liquid rollers. The reason I want to try a winch is because 99% of the time it's going to be just me pulling it off and on. I know from previous experience with my brothers ski it can be a handful getting it off the trailer. I have four more gussets to weld then I will be done, except for paint. Pictures coming soon...

Liquid Rollers definitely makes the job easier. You can even spray it on the bunks on the stand. However I would recommend putting eye bolts at the front and rear of the stand so you can strap it down. With the liquid rollers the skis will slide very easy and you dont want to push it off the stand.

Well just about finished. I have to get another picture I have the bunks in place but not in the picture. I have sketched up the detachable winch but just purchased some roller bunks so not sure if I'll end up needing the winch. It's a pretty good design I think but tue wife is already complaining I spend too much time in the garage. So maybe next month I can get to it. Thanks for the strap idea it made moving the ski 100% easier. I also must admit I am very disappointed in the pneumatic casters. Think I may pick up solid steel with a little rubber.
