Thread: Prop pitch

Hello all, been gone for a few years due to my Wife's ongoing illness. Last info I read about the 250X prop was the stocker was still the best for top speed, so I wondered if that has changed? Is there an aftermarket prop thats better than the stocker for top speed?
I tried searching this but found nothing. I ride smooth river water and want top speed gains. Last year my best gps speed was 69.9, hoping to get to 71+ with some mods this season, want to have a spare prop so was looking for a faster prop to install and keep the stocker for a spare.

OK, thanks. I think I will send the whole pump to Dave at Impros and see what he can do with it. His site shows several different mod for top speed, and now i'm reading about the bearing failures. Thats a new one to me since last time I was here.

not talking about bolt on mods.
the picth is so high that at high revs the crank isnt designed to be under that much load.
stay away from it.
unless you have beefed your engine.

Pulled the pump out last night, the blade to liner clearance is .019" to .021" with some signs of cavatation burn on the edges of the blades. It does cavitate out of the hole now at full throttle since I did the timing mod so I will have Dave build up those blades for less clearance.
