what Valve springs are available ?

whats everyone running with Valve springs these days ?
say your running 16-18psi at 8600-8900 with light retainers and lightened valves on a 4224 cam. would a new set of OEM springs be tight/safe enough for a lightened engine ??

I wouldn't have thought so. I think Riva racing springs would be the go.

    thanks manaroman76 for the reply.

so that I know of there are springs from
    perry performance
    riva
    rotax

what are the thoughts on running stock spring, Les`s retainers with a rotax shim ???
this would stiffen them up enough to reduce valve float at high rpms
any thoughts on this people ?
can you buy the riva springs separate?

Thats what I've been running @ 8600rpms on stock(non lightened) valves.

I do plan to lighten them as soon as I go with a 9.2K ECU, and use stiffer springs

I would personally just go for the Riva valvetrain and be done with it. The idea of different retainers and adding shims to increase seat pressure doesnt sit real well with me.
With the Aussie dollar the way it is at the moment bro, you can pick up the riva valvetrain from Jerry for pretty cheap. $600 minus 10% GH coupon, then minus about another 8-10% for Aussie dollar conversion. BARGAIN!

yeah this is true but I don`t know much about the Riva retainers..
all ski`s I have built for customers and myself I use seadoo centers retainers as there the best in my opinion.
so the Riva kit just seams a waste of $ to me as I won`t use anything but Les`s retainers. was more just looking at springs ! had a few pm`s so will look into it a little more with spring stretch and compression etc. thanks heaps for the replies guys . appreciate it !

Out of curiousity, what are Les's retainers worth?? They are like 350 or so hey?
Im upgrading to the Riva ECU and i was planning on getting the riva valvetrain to match, but it might be worth considering les's retainers instead..

think his RRP is $299 AU $ but check with seadoo center to confirm. never had a problem with them ever, even after 50 + hours on a few race/rec ski`s !! Les makes sh!t fast and last thats for sure.... from what I have run/built OEM springs, Seadoo center retainers, stock valves (in good condition) are fine with 8650 and below ( thats with a Les remap ecu).

Thats not too bad i guess, but seems worthwhile for me to spend the couple hundred more and get the whole riva kit, especially seeing as though my motor has 117 hours on it.

Out of curiousity do you have the valve spring removal tool?? I bet ya cant see where this is going
