Worst g0d@mn search function ever
Like the title says. Worse one i have ever seen on a site in my life. I thought search functions on websites worked by you typing a word into the box and hitting enter or clicking "GO"??
Every search i have ever made on this site has turned up NOTHING. It always asks for a ton of perameters and options. WTF??? Im just searching for a key word! I dont know where or how or why or who!!
Seriously, i am trying to see what others are using as far as fluids in their Yamahas and so i enter "Yamalube" I get NOTHING. WTF? I know for sure at least I myself have typed that word in a thread. So why is it not being found by this horribad search function?
Sorry for going nutz here but im trying to "search" like most senior members tell you to do. But it does not work....

What forum section are you searching in?
Is the check box for 'Child forums' checked?
I just searched for Yamalube in the Yamaha sections and got lots of results.

I am simply typing in a keyword and hitting enter. Just like you can do on any other site. It seems that i have to do a few other things to get this one to work. Really annoying. I didnt even know there was a 'Child Forum' LOL. And i didnt realize i had to search specific sections. Also annoying. Well, i tried to do that but not working for me. Oh well, i'll just not use it.
Thanks for trying to help guys.

The search function actually is pretty good on this forum...it's vBulletin and works like most. "child forums" means to search the "sub categories"...so If you choose Yamaha, it will search "4 stroke", "2 stroke" etc. It is purposely broken down, to help you find ONLY what you want...I don't want to sort through a bunch of irrelevant threads.
You can also use Google to search any forum on the net...I use this when I'm looking for something with only 3 characters in it, since most boards make you use 4+...or for searching sites that I'm not a member of, which usually prevents searching within the site...I search the old riva forums like this.
Go to google and type:
site:greenhulk.net search data
where search data is what you are looking to search.
will find you any topic on this site that has the word "yamalube" in it

are you logging in before trying to search. It goes much smoother if you are logged in

Search is working fine for me, but there was one or two days where I was also experiencing what Xrunner is describing. I would try searching and no matter what, I was getting a error message. Hasn't happened since then though.
Xrunner, try logging out and back in, clear your cookies, restart you computer...stuff like that.

Yea, it seems to be working now. I did what you said though before hand, so thats prolly what it was. I cleared and cleaned up the ol' PC and i am able to get results now. Sorry for the rant guys, LOL. It just didnt want to work for the longest time. Haha! I suppose it wasnt the site just my nub ass being stupid, Hehe!
