HELP 2008 RXP-X Oil on Spark plug tip

I bought a used 2008 RXP-x from a member here and I went to change the plugs today and the plug on the rear was full of oil on the tip and the threads. What would cause this?
I hope my motor is not fubard ...

Leaking through the valve cover maybe?

What is a sealing cup? It looked like the plugs had some type of vaseline on the tops between the plug gasket and valve cover.

Disregard..changed my post. Typed before I thought that one through...

What I meant was is there any damage to the spark plug pipes? possible could have corroded from water sitting allowing oil in. The spark plug pipes seal under the valve cover as well, may be leaking there.

I think the sealing cup is the little black cover that seats onto the top of the plug (to help keep water out?) The "vaseline" is prob. just marine grade or lithium grease. Just guessing...

I am quoting your pm. I will go buy a 12mm adapter tomorrow for my compression tester. I hope everything is good.

Sorry dude...I misread your first post. I thought you said the spark plug cavity itself was full of oil...excuse my misguided direction.

    Bed time...
