    Stock 05 RXP test results

    Hello everyone.

This is my first post on this forum. I've been posting on sea-doo.net for a while. I wanted to get your opinion on my results from my latest ride on my RXP.

    Air Temp: 76-80
    Water temp: 87
    Humidity: 39%
Max Rpm: 8100 (only when turning slightly)
    RPM range: 8000-8050
    Top gps speed: 68.7 mph
    elevation: 675
    Gas: 3 bars
    Trim: 2 below top
    Hours: 35

Rpm stayed mainly between 8000-8050. Speed stayed between 67.8 and 68.2 for most of the morning.

My results are much better now that it is cooler here in Upstate, South Carolina. When it was 99* I only saw 7700-7800 rpm.

I wanted to get your thoughts on my results and some suggestions on how to get the speed and accerlation up for around $500.

    Thanks,

    Stewart

Those numbers are right on the money for a stock machine.

An aftermarket or homemade air intake, a repitched prop, a pump wedge and an intake grate are a good start for some more speed.

I have a better than new Solas 14/19 that came with my Riva stage one kit with about five hours use, repitched by Dave at Impros to a 14-18.5 that I will sell for $175 delivered to your door with original box and all receipts. Do that and get a powerfilter and you should see 70-71 mph.

Welcome to the forum. Those are some decent numbers from a stock ski. Do everything mentioned as well as fill in the holes in your ride plate.

Thanks for the replies. Does a intake grate help in smooth water acceleration or just in chop?

Thanks Green Hulk. I look forward to chatting with you guys. My RXP is a great ride. It's the first pwc I've ever owned. I bought it in early June. I'll probably start modifing it next year.

Do intake grates help with smooth water acceleration or just in the chop?

Intake grates mainly help in the chop.
