Winter Project 65U GP1200
I picked up an engine to rebuild and put into a 99 GP 800 hull that I have. Looks like the engine has gotten a bit of moisture into it or it may have taken on some water at one point. So far I have figured out that it has a RAD flywheel, Greater Yamaha head, some kind of aftermarket intake and reeds, aftermarket mikuni carbs?
What carbs are these? They say BMR Racing...
What kind of intake is this?
Looks like I need some new reeds what kind ar they?
Are these Wiseco pistons?
The cylinder looks lightly ported any idea what the number engraved in it means?

The intake is Custom one off
The pistons are Wiseco's
I have heard of BMR but have no experience I believe I read some about them in GroupK's document on racing carbs
Reeds appear to to be Boyessen Pro series but I may be wrong
The number on the cylinder I am not sure about but I have them on the two cylinders on my bench so probably a factory control number

Any idea on the size of those carbs? I'm assuming that I could rebuild them with the standard rebuild kit also?

They are Mikuni SBN's to start with so you can use the standard rebuild kits be sure and mark each carb to the cylinder it came off and for future reference record the jetting, needle and seat size and spring color or gram force.
Here is a great reference tool save it to your hard drive go to the post and scroll down the page and there is a mikuni manual as well as a GP service manual if you do not have one.

Here is a link to GroupK's Document on Racing carbs it shows the BMR as a 46 or 48 so the only way to tell for sure is measure the diameter near the butterfly valve
Looks like you got some nice carbs there Rob
I hope you like the sponsons
How much did Eric charge you for the motor if you do not mind telling

Hard to tell, they very well could be 46's but I-Body was just a guess, Bill may be right on the money with this one.
Here is a color chart for you to reference to when jetting, hope this helps a little when re-doing things. Good luck.
