    Gp1200r Handle bar set up

Im trying to come up with a aftermarket Handle bar setup but im usure how to continue controlling the VTS. I dont want to pay $350 for UMI steering, so im just gonna clean the stock stem and mount Hot Products runabout handlebars on them, they are 7/8 so they fit the stock clamp. Im getting ODI rogue grips, keeping the stock throtle control lever and getting rid of choke altogether. Only problem is the VTS control is built into stock grip, can i replace the grip with the ODI one or maybe get a regular Clutch lever to control the VTS, any thoughts appreciated. Its not a racer just recreational in saltwater sound and alittle ocean play.
