    99 SLX 1200 Almost Ready

After working out of town for almost 6 weeks (and making a lot of cash), it's time to start finishing my projects.

    This one was a hydro-locked 1050 with 1200 cases.
After buying a 2001 TXi 1200 w/10hrs on it (and UPS destroying the cases), I swapped cases and did some minor repairs.

I bought new wrist pins and bearings, just to be safe, but my order was split, and the new circlips got lost in the mail. And that's one of only a few things needed before installation.
I'm still needing to re-time the flywheel for the longer stroke, New jets for the 2001 updated specs, and waiting for Aaron to hook me up with some blingage.

    Wetherby,
Did you happen to remember to bolt up the exhaust manifold before torquing down the cylinders? (for proper cylinder alignment)

Oh Yah, that was the last thing I did last night.

Man, I'm getting Real stoked! After timing the 1200, it'll be ready to drop in for the final adjustments and alignment.

$150 for that alignment tool hurt like hell.

I always feel the same way about buying the tools, but a lot of them are really needed and I figure that if I wind up staying in the Polaris game, it ain't so bad over time!!!

Did UPS pay for the case?

Yah Scott, they paid the seller. And he never paid me.

I Ebay'd the cases, stating the damage of course, and got $200 for them.
Luckily, Polaris started using the 1200 cases on the SLX 1050 in 99. So I had a good set to work with.

Right now, just Carbon-Tech light tension reeds, R&D short-wing grate, and OP Race plate.

    Future plans are,
Full circle crank (not yet motivated)
Carb mods by GroupK and TxPro1200.
Still pondering the triple pipe route (having a hard time convincing the wife that I can't live without them).
    Rec. porting by GroupK.
    OP Ocean plate
