Polaris Engine Cases - what motor are these from?

Needed a new crankshaft for a 2002 Freedom.

Bought a bottom end, supposedly from a 2001 Virage (Babbitt's shows same part number).

The crankcase from the 2001 Virage has a port on each cylinder; the 2002 Freedom crankcase does not. Obviously, these ports are for the cooling system.

I want to re-sell the crankcase, since I don't need it, but I want to be sure to properly identify the part. The bottom case is dated 02/22/00 and numbered 0002014. Can someone tell me what motor these cases are for?

What does the other side look like?

Which 'ports' are you referring to?

Are there oil feed nipples for the front and rear crank bearings (which would mean it was from a fuel injected engine)?

They are multi purpose watercraft / snow cases. They will work fine for watercraft, you just need the correct base gaskets to cover the water jacket holes in the crankcase. The base gaskets will be solid with no cutaways, etc.

    Regards,
    Randy

    Thanks Randy

Universal domestic two cylinder crank cases, but only for carburetor watercraft - correct?

What part numbers does Polaris assign to these cases, and importantly, the correct gaskets?

Thanks for the info. It's good news... it expands my market.

The next question to ask is: what's the part number for the base gasket? If I sell the cases, I should be able to answer that question.
