    Possible ecu failure

    I am pretty good at diagnosis on most problems but need confirmation maybe on an issue.

    I have a 2003 GTX sc with an 05 rxp 8100 rpm ecu and and a 58 lb fuel pressure regulator I picked up here from a very helpful member that I have run for a couple of years. Woke up the craft. Thanks

    Replaced the known bad oil pressure sender with a new one after it failed and the codes in the ecu matched the bad sensor.

    Store boat all winter. Take craft to the river and 5 mies into the ride the ski goes into limp mode with "oil" flashing on panel. Wtf?

    Pull lanyard ski restarts, buzzer on loud, limp mode. 3-4 times.

    Tow ski back with my f-15x and take it into shop.

    Mechanic buddy at dealer hooks up it up to the buds system. No codes stored.


    He knows of no way a limp mode would not be retained. Ski restarted there on the trailer after the tow and ran fine. Starts here fine no buzzer.

    My thoughts are the ecu warms up and fails.

    Need another 8100 rpm early rxp ecu? Want to swap unit I think?

    Only way to have a limp mode and unit does not remember it to my thinking.

    Especially the warm up syndrome.

    Anyone seen this or has any input.

    For sure want to swap the ecu anyone have one around?

    Hook up a manuel oil preseure gauge and see where your oil pressure actually is befor going any farther. Does it when things warm up because oil thins out as it warms. When you started it on the trailer later it seemed fine because the oil viscosity had increased because the eng had cooled
