    Porpoising

seem to get porpoising between 28-37mph any ideas if the nozzle position should be changed up or down to resolve this issue / 04 - R12

Have you read the intake grate bar removal thread? I think people have solved porpoising issues that way.

We have already done the intake grate when we put in the Solas prop, so that did not eliminate the porpoising any.

Release the 4 12mm bolts on the ride plate and remove the rear two. Using a lot of patience and a Dentist Pick slide a 1/2" SS Fender Washer into the rear feet and then put the bolts back through them. Lowering the rear of the plate sometimes stops porposing. If not add another washer to each side.
Due to my modified ride plates, I had to shim mine so it still rides bow up with a cooler in the front but only porposes when I am going over "rollers".

Thanks JR also thought that I installed a 5 degree wedge and maybe should be a 2.5, but I'll give the ride plate a try first ...

On my 15x Ramon suggested that with his ride plate I would want a 2.5 degree wedge. I love the ride and it only has a slight porpoise at WFO. Thanks Ramon, awesome job you did!

FYI, I had the same issue, even more so when we were two up. We shimmed the back of the ride plate a bit and it's porpoising less. I'm temped to shim it a bit more.

So how many washers did you start with? Just 1 then go from there? Thanks chris

Just do 1 and then test. If it needs more, superglue two of the SS washers together and slide them into place before putting the bolt back through it.

Good deal, I'll give it a try. Don't know of anybody with a grate a ride plate for sale for a gp 800? Thanks chris
