Rotary Powered GPR in the works...
A quiet little group of determined speed guys from down under are looking at the feasibility of sticking a rotary engine in a GPR.
Maybe they'll comment here, as things progress?
Don't ask me, I don't have any details, other than these pics.
I know there was some half-baked idea a few years ago, but it seemed that guy was just looking for startup capital. These guys are doing it to see if it can be done.
A stock 2006 RX8 2 rotor is around 230hp at 8500rpms.

OMG that would be insane, cant wait to see how it goes.
i sold my rx8 recently due to licensing issues ;\ and i would imagine if put into a gpr it would have incredible top end although slightly slugish off the mark until it hit 3000 rpm or so. This group of guys may want to speak with Rick Shaw ( rick shaw rotory's) if they get stuck with rotor mods as he rocks with all rotor's
keep the updates coming if you get any

I remember this was once done to a Sea-Doo GSX a few years ago.
this will be very interesting

I think it was a GTI with a single rotor?
I liked the concept, but that guy chose the worst of both worlds.
If these guys pull this off, it would be interesting.

Lets set the record straight ya fools. I actually picked up a rotary motor for the guy and had it delivered to him. Rexx was his name, aka TOM. Very very smart guy. He did build one, it was a in gsx hull. It ran, but was very unstable at high speeds on the gsx hull. He messed up when he moved from up north down to Florida, because where he was at originally he had everything at his door step. Now he's been trying to find people to fabricate things and just can't get people to do it.
The capital thing was that he needed the money to finance the project. Its simple when you do it yourself with everything at your disposal, but when you move and lose all the connections you had, well, thats where it gets tough. Tom is good people, but I think he just went about it the wrong way. There is a rotary gsx out there running, I think on 2 plugs, not sure the entire story, but he was doing 70/71 I think.
It can be done, just be prepared to fabricate a lot of stuff.
If you look up Rexx Racing you can probably get a lot of information on the rotary setup.

Hehehe, see I am always looking out for you.
If you need, you can probably call Rexx (Tom) up and talk to him. I am sure he'll give some pointers out.

That would be cool if they could fit the turbo motor in there.
