    08 vs 09 p-x props

Guys I was just looking at a couple different x-ski props and I see the 09 one has a lip inside. When I tighten the 09 prop down to my 08 pump it bottoms out and wont move. Do I add a washer to get the spacing or should I grind down the lip so it doesnt bottom out ? Worried about moving the blades to far from the stator veins.

You can put a 08 prop on a 09 pump, but you can't put a 09 prop on a 08 pump. The 09 shaft is different.

Odd I did see the difference in the shaft but the newer prop works fine on the 08 pump with a washer to space it off the hub. Pretty sure its not going anywhere.

I guess it will work with some kind of spacer. What I said is correct. If you try a to put a 09 prop on a 08 pump it will not work, without some kind of spacer apparently. Is there any difference in distance from the prop blades to the pump veins. Oh and pray the prop doesn't loosen on you with that spacer washer. It will take out your engine, if it does.

Well being in the Midwest sucks..As soon as I can get out and do some testing I will know more. For now I decided to run a different prop.

I do think I will machine down the hub of the prop where the o-ring is. This would allow me to use it without the spacer/washer.
