    New Battery

Got my new battery for my 08 RXP-X

2 Questions, do I need to hook positive or negative first, I dont believe I do and there is no opening for the battery hose to go into, does this matter?

    Thanks, T

my manual says: "the (black) negative cable must always be disconnected first and connected last".

What Craigo said....and if it's a sealed battery the vent hose is not used.

It really doesn't matter which is connected first or last. The only reason the manual says this is because if you put a wrench on the positive terminal first before removing the negative, and your wrench contacts something connected to ground, you will have "big problem".

If you are careful, it doesn't matter which is which.
