Need to replace impeller.. on a 250 X..

    Hello all,
I'm going to replacing my Impeller on my 250(dinged up- whizzer can do no more)... I know that back in the day anyone who was going to do the same was instructed to go with a stock unit. Does that still hold true? or has anything popped up that make for a better selection.

I think that a stock unit goes for $300 or so solas give or take a few$$

    thanks and happy spring.

Solas will make a bit more speed but cavitate horribly.

A skat 12/19 is good all rounder. Or stock.

While your pump is apart, upgrade it to 300x specs. Shaft, bearings etc.

    Thanks for the reply,
I have already done the 2011 specs with a modded shaft/nut from Impros last summer.I'll RE do it when i change out the Prop this season. I'll go with the stock kawi unit. I dont think i can go wrong with this setup. I dont think i had and Cavitation issues either.
    Thanks

I just had Impros speed mod my stock prop and tighten up the clearance from .023" to .010", all cavitation is now gone and I picked up 1 mph. Dave is awesome.

Just how bad is your prop right now? Impros might be able to fix it as rob said (and for a lot cheaper than a new one).

    Thanks for the reply,
I mean it's not the worst in the world I dont believe there is Cavitation(i'd have to know what and how to feel it to really know)I had the pump done last season. The Tech at the times was able to clean it up with the whizzer and suggested that i might want to replace it next(this) season. I'm big on Piece of mind... I hate coudda, woudda, shoudda- when i had the chance or worse yet in the middle of the season- or in the middle of the bay.I have been pretty lucky so far and i can only attribute that to Maintaince and being somewhat cautious.

I guess if was more Cautious, i would not have sucked up those stones that put me in this spot from the jump.

Solas provide impellers for ALL Kawi pwc since early 2000. Before it was SkatTrak.

I think he was referring to the Solas 16/21 impeller which is known to be good on top end but have poor acceleration (cavitation).
