    Thumbs up Seafair 2011 August 5th - 7th

Alright everybody, we are doing it again this year!

    What are we doing?

    - We will attempt to ride the chop on Lake Washington during Seafair weekend!
    - We are going to have front row seats to the infamous Blue Angels!
    - We are going to watch the hydroplanes fight it out for the Albert Lee Cup!
    - We are going to see drunken naked women dancing! :yay2:

    So... WHO IS WITH ME?!?!

    Plan:

Everyone will meet up at the Mercer Island boat launch @ 10am all three days. There is parking up on the hill and no need to pay parking/launch fees.

The best part of this plan - when we return to the launch - we get to watch the boaters drag their boats from the launch with their outboards locked in the down position. It's always good for laughs.

What we are doing is - meeting up at the Mercer Island Boat Launch, going for an 8 mile ride to Andrew's Bay, having Lunch at the floating Coqui Cabana, riding 10 miles back around Mercer Island to the North Side of the I-90 Floating Bridge, watching the Blue Angel's air show, riding 10 miles back around Mercer Island after the show when they open the area behind the Log Boom at the South End of the Hydroplane Race Track, joining the mayhem, having a bunch of fun, and doing it all again the next day.

    Driving Directions:
    • From Westbound I-90 take the East Mercer Way Exit #8

Turn left onto East Mercer Way which takes you over the freeway. Go through the traffic light and take the first left after the light onto the boat launch entry drive. While on the drive, stay to the left and follow the drive under the freeway to the boat launch.
    • From Eastbound I-90 take the East Mercer Way Exit #8

At the stopsign turn right onto East Mercer Way. At the traffic light continue straight on East Mercer Way. Take the first left after the light onto the boat launch entry drive. While on the drive, stay to the left and follow the drive under the freeway to the boat launch.
    * There are alot of places to park on East Mercer Way if you do not wish to pay to launch !!!

Thanks buddy. I'm 60% there, as it's right in the middle of my annual Prince George trek. Maybe I can re-sched.
Got o'night parking for truck (F350) & double ski trailer? I sleep on the taunno cover. (roof rack tent)

Sounds like a fun time. Any specific days/times? Just starting to figure out the lakes/Sound and looking forward to a lot of riding this summer!

I've updated the first post - it now includes the plan. It worked out really well last year - so, I'm keeping the same itinerary.

So, Sunday is the "Big day?" I was thinking of driving down Sat. 5am, stay late, then drive back home, missing the border and hopefully launch line ups.
Or, I could do it Sunday but, heading to Prince George early Monday.
Maybe park my truck and trailer in your driveway Friday or Sat. night, ride the next day, and header home after.
Or, drive down early Sat or Sun, ride all day, have a pissed up testicostical experience (get shitfaced), crash overnight, and drive home early next day.
Need a plan. Looks like I'm in this year.

Blue Angels fly all three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). I don't know that Sunday is any bigger than the other days.

I'm probably not going to make it. Looking like I'll be out of town.

The Blue Angels fly Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I've gotta work - but I'll likely get Friday off - and you'll know where I'll be Saturday and Sunday.

It's known for "Seafair Sunday" because that's the day for the final hydroplane heats.

I don't exactly have a driveway for you to park at. Let me know if you need help figuring out a place to park your truck and trailer.
