2004 seadoo 787 RFI Can the water channel be bypassed???

I sent out my 2004 787 RFI GTI engine to East Coast Cycle in PA and it came back with no lower water channel cover. And Tom at East Coast Cycle said it can be bypassed and I dont need it. But @ SBT they said if bypassed it could over heat and burn up bottom end. can anyone help? Please

I'm trying to rebuild a 98 gtx rfi with a block that has no water channel , but the flywheel didn't fit on the crank, guess I need a new crank but, would like to know if it would over heat before I buy one.

Your not using a RFI case then. all RFI cases have the waterjacket area and should be used, and the crank isnt working because the flywheel key way area is cut different for a RFI motor. RFI and carb model cranks dont interchange.
