    Msx150 turbo Newbie.. but i think i got it.. please let me know

    hello,
    i just traded my quad for a 2004 polaris msx 150 turbo with 56hrs i have found two problems with it. Rpm's get stuck at 4600 & the oil is milky. its starts great with no problem engine feels strong.

    i did some research on this website and it looks like i just need to change wastegate actuator and the Update Kit, Oil tank & update my ecu with http://www.precisionsports.ca/ after all this I'm assuming my msx 150 should run great... AM I RIGHT OR WRONG PEOPLE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW..

    Cylinder compression?

    Look at the spark plugs and if you can down inside the cylinder (borescope or tiny light) - look for any signs of metal flaking.

    If the Nikasil cylinder plating is failing then then engine will require a rebuild, which is expensive.

    my jetski was almost the same.... oil tank knackered, had ecu remap by precisionsports, (great) but still problems, it turned out i had a leaking intercooler, so turbo was working over time, and is shot, so going bigger turbo now.

    if its doesn't smoke, it should be ok, id get a new oil tank though.
