    Need Help 2001 GP1200R

Hey guys new to the site and had a question about My 2001 GPR. First off is bone stock other then the cat with about 54 hr on it. I took it out a few days and when I gave it a check over after done riding It had a blueish white past lining the bottom of the hull. Denfetly oily water past. Not really sure how that got there I check the oil tank and it still has plenty of oil in it. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

It's common for the oil lines to pop off on the carbs. Make sure you inspect that.

check if an oil line popped off your intake manifold? this is a common problem.

that would mean you got very lucky.

Yup...you got lucky. you would have noticed a problem. There is lube from intermixing but not enough....un-repaired, it wouldn't last much longer.

There should be a sticky in the how-to section.

Im guessing this is why people plug them and mix their own gas and oil?

Yes, it takes one point of failure out of the equation.

The pump rarely fails(as why there is oil in your hull) so once the lines are properly fastned it should be good.

Just play it safe and go premix. It's not as difficult as you may think. I have 3 16oz soda bottles that I fill with oil. Whenever I get gas I pour one bottle for every 5 gallons of gas I pump. This is a 40:1 ratio. On your way to the launch ramp the starts, stops, left and right turns causes the gas and oil to slosh around enough in the tank to fully mix it. When I fuel up on the water i just rock the ski back and forth and side to side for several minutes to mix it before I start it.
