    07 ultra 250x gutless

    I just bought a ultra 250x with 60 hours on it. They told me it ran perfect last summer and i still believe them because even they have tried to help me with my problems. however when i bought it i changed the oil and thats it. but i put 5 qts in it and ran for about 10 minutes after noticing something was wrong i looked up some research on it and says it only needs around 4qts. so i pumped some out and it still did the same thing. i looked on the air box clear drain tube and and pulled the tube off and there was no oil that seemed to be in it. it had a slight oil film but not much at all. yet it still will not run correct bogging in and out and just really gutless overall. however sometimes it does seem to kick in but only for a few seconds. i am really needing some help so please guys help me.

    Try new plugs. Make sure u have the FPO in and not the SLO-key.

    i ordered some plugs earlier today they will be here tomorrow. but even though there is no oil in air box is it likely that oil would make it to the intercooler?

    if its bogging down check the air intake trumpet, if its plugs it would be running rough and hesitating misfiring. unless the i/c is full of oil it should be finetake the inlet hose of the i/c and look with a mirror that will give you a fair indication

    What RPMs are you seeing?

    it will hit 7000 rpms or more acts like rpms are fine but boost is low sometimes and others the boost is fine

    Check you belt tension, is there oil on it ect.

    check your SC belt

    ok. can you tell my what the tension on the belt should be?

    you need to have the tension tool to have the right tension, by hand you shouldn't be able to twist it more then 1/4 turn on the longer portion at the bottom but that is not accurate and you need to be sure to not overthighten. you better get the tool
