RXT-X assistance please
so ive been searching all over but i figured some new advice would help, basically i have a very lightlty modded rxtx 09'
currently my rpm's are right at 8000 at around 71mph, i am running the riva adjustable nozzle with an 83mm ring, i have an 84 and 85, speedfreaks pitched my prop, im wondering if jumping to 85 will give me enough rmps to get me a little closer to the rev limit or if you guys recommend repitching, if so about how much would you take off the prop?? 1/2 mm??
only reason i am posting is because ive never had to do any fine tuning this close to the rev limit on a stock ski, i have my doughts that the riva rings can give me anotehr 150 rpm's, what would you do??

Keep the pitch and try the rings. If they don't get high enough for you then repitch. But when it gets colder again, you'll be doing another repitch to compensate. Good luck.

Going from 83 to an 85 should give you close to 150 RPMs if not a little more. Not sure which option is best though repitch vs rings. If those are your R's right now, I imagine it has not gotten really warm there yet so your R's will probably drop more in the summer meaning you may still need to repitch.

What are your mods?

ya the water temp here is around 60 or so degrees usually in the lake of the ozarks the temp can get to the mid 90s, so the general rule is each mm up or down on the rings is around 50 rpm?

mods are pretty light just a 4" intake, the intake manifold mod, speedfreak setback with worx grate, nothin crazy, i used to have a stage 3++ rxp so im trying to adjust to this more stock setup and i guess im a little anal as far as tuning goes, thanks for the input. im slowly getting used to this barge of a ski

I'd go the .020" for the 150 rpm you are looking for with the 83 mm nozzle-- 1 mm is a bit much.
