SHO - stopping the buck - top speed ?

    .

I am thinking of getting an fzr or fzs . I want to eliminate the chance of getting bucked off the thing

What is the best rideplate and intake grate for top speed and that will also stop the buck ?

    Thanks
    Gary

For the intake, R&D Aquavein, or the Riva. That will take care of the bucking issue. As far as rideplates, The VX rideplate works very well or the R&D adjustable. The rideplate doesn't really have much to do with the pump stuffing, It's more of are you looking for top speed or handling.
Get a good aftermarket intake and your problem is solved.

The vx or R&D seem to be the best for top speed. Jims modification can even make them better.

The R&D intake grate is what most of us use with no worries of bucking at even 90+ mph

and by far the best plate for top speed is this one

It absolutely does! If you increase the plate angle(VX or shimmed stock plate) without installing an aftermarket grate, you are going to greatly increase the chances of an overstuff.

I stand corrected, that statment was using the assumption that a grate was being installed.
The first part of that statement as well as the last part of that statement seemed to have coverd that.

Gary, we have almost 100 hours on the R&D intake grate and VX ride plate combo; no stuffing ever. You are going to get a slight bounce at WOT but this is a great setup for any conditions you might encounter on lakes and rivers with a single rider. With a passenger it's not so good; (too much bounce for my taste) but single rider is outstanding. I don't ride ours in the ocean so I can't speak to that, but the other skis on the lakes here don't even try to race us anymore.

Im torn between getting a fz or a 300x kawi , one thing good about the 250x I had , it was handled any water condition
