Possible cause of engine seize - 2001 XLT 1200 - Carbs?

I started a thread a while back as I was taking apart the engine.

Long story short, bought ski as project, knew 3rd cylinder seized, didn't know why, all oil lines intact, searching for cause of seizure. Everything stock, with possible exception to the carb jets and springs (more on that further down).

Started taking the carbs apart today, started with #1, everything looked pretty clean on the regulator side. Then took the pump side apart and noticed one of the check valves was broken..., badly (see pic). Took #3 apart, all looked good. Could this check valve failure in #1 cause #3 to loose fuel and seize? The ski was still oil injected when I got it.

On the jetting subject. Looks like the mains are 117.5. Is that stock? Also, gold springs. It has the stock air box and accel pump. How do you get the jets out? I tried unscrewing the main, but it didn't budge. I don't know the size on the smaller one. What is the proper setup for stock air box and I guess the accel pump?

    Thanks, Sympster

I have never seen a check valve do that almost looks like it was eaten away. The carbs work per cylinder so no #1 carb issue would not affect #3 cylinder. The carbs look relatively clean otherwise, the corrosion is very minor and common in the fuel pump side. Stock jetting is 117.5 and 87.5 1.2 with gold spring so it looks totally stock to me.
