    Just out of curiosity…

How well would my wife's 94 sl run with a 1050 or 1200 domestic in it??
I'm sure it will fit in the hull fairly straight up.

Most likely the mounting locations won't match up. might have to glass in new mounts

Mounting bosses for the motor mounts will not line up. You can attempt to:

    1) Mod a fuji bed plate to fit the domestic engine

    2) Glass in new motor mount bosses as BryanP suggested

    3) Fab up a new bed plate for the domestic that lines up with the Fuji motor mount locations.

I was thinking of using a Fuji plate.
How does the 700 domestic compare against the 750 Fuji?
    As in performance.

The 700 was rated for 95HP compared to 80HP for the 750 motors. I have no experience with the 700's but I recall hearing Randy from Watcon talking about them and he felt they were one of the most overbuilt Polaris engines. I don't know how the low end torque compares, but if you're up to the task it may be worth tackling the project.

Getting the engine in the hull and lining it up with new mounts is certainly possible, just bear in mind you will need to change a lot of things such as exhaust, intake, CDI, throttle cable. You may also need a shortened or longer drive shaft depending on the engine choice. This is the kind of thing you would do if you had a complete ski ready for the transplant, if you want to go out and source all of the parts it will easily set you back more than double the price of a ski already setup ready to go. My 2 cents.
