    06 RXP input for mods..

    Hello All,

Just picked up a SLAMMING deal on a red and black RXP with 74 hrs..

First run was 68 MPH on my Droid phone... bone stock with me (150) and 2/3 fuel.

The next day back on my hometown lake I ran 67.9 on a GPS.

After tons of ready I am very proud to announce those numbers from a stock ski.

I would like to do a few minor mods to start and wanted to run by with you guys what you think.. I've taken in the input from the "how to" and many searches to come up with what I believe would be a very good ski me for me.

Why would I need a pump wedge if I have VTS?

    1. S/C Washers...
    2. 4" intake.
    3. Impeller what pitch??
    4. reverse bucket mod.
    5. wear ring.. either SS or plastic not sure yet.. Ideas?
6.Exhaust. ok this one is tricky because I dont want a really loud ski I just want a good deep sound.
    7. top-loader intake grate.. how much will this really add.....

So far that's my list.. The one thing that's making me nuts is I want to hear the supercharger so much more.

as for the OPAS.. right now I let my brother, mom, dad, GF and such drive.. and when I got my gf and her friends ridding the ski I just need to know there is some extra "turning" help for now..

Thanks for the help in advance.. only thing I need to fix is the VTS doesn't work at all.. in fact the depth finder has a "--" and the VTS indicator goes away after the ski arms up.

After I figure that out I should be good to go.. I attached some pics for you guys to see..

You need a pump wedge because it raises the bow out of the water 2-2.5 degrees therefore reducing drag on the hull and increases your top speed usually on average 1-1.5 mph.... To fix the VTS issue you are having, you need to have the dealer hook it up to BUDS and deactivate the Depth Gauge and Enable VTS. YOUR VTS IS NOT WORKING

    1. S/C Washers... Send it to Jerry he is the man. This is the kit you need ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=763
Link to the info page ---> http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...ebuild-Service
    2. 4" intake. - This one is what most use ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1160
    3. Impeller what pitch?? 14/19R with a little pitch removed. You need to run it first and send it with your SC and Jerry will pitch it to get the most speed out of it. This one ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...products_id=11
    4. reverse bucket mod.
    5. wear ring.. either SS or plastic not sure yet.. Ideas? Go with the plastic wear ring. The SS will eat your prop... This one ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=518
6.Exhaust. ok this one is tricky because I dont want a really loud ski I just want a good deep sound. The Riva through Hull is a good sounding on the stock water box. This one ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=301
    7. top-loader intake grate.. how much will this really add..... Helps more than you would know. This one ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=580
    8. Wedge with Extension This one ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=587

Oh, the removal of the OPAS increases handling when turning and also going over wakes. I think it handles better without them IMO!!!

Removal kit can be found here ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=302

Had the same issue with my VTS when i first got my ski, as MSRXP said just have them hook it to the comp remove the depth finder. (This sometimes happens if the battery is disconnected for too long)

I also agree with MSRXP about the opas block offs and handling. I feel like the ski handles a whole lot better with out them (of course only when ur giving it throttle).

Havent put an intake on my ski yet, but will do so in the near future and from the looks of it you can prolly build something urself. Im sure theres a few how-to threads floatin around here.

Yeah you can, but by the time you part it together you are spending around the same amount of $$$$

Looks like you are at sandbar, LWylie, Little Allison Creek there I believe. I've got the same ski 06 RXP black/red, see you there on the weekends or NC sandbar.

Yeah that's my ski? Most of the time I'll be with that green 1 also. More than likely I'll have my gf too. Stop by anytime.

    A. I've heard people say the pump wedge is a waste of money...
    B. I thought the RD grate was best in chop, Riva grate best on glass, and Worx grate best of both worlds... Also, you didnt mention anything about the pump shoe insert, which imo is a must have for preventative reasons....
    C. The basic opas kit has given people problems, I went with the full fiberglass kit that completes the hull. I would suggest that kit or at least the Riva PRO kit...

I personally have seen positive gains from the pump wedge. It's simple physics... Less resistance=less drag.....

Do you think I can make it until memorial day weekend until I send Jerry my s/c?
It's running really good so I think it will be ok.. 8080 rpm and 67.9 gps..
