    Knock Sensor Update?

Hey guys I just got an 04' RXP and the pior owner did not know if it was done or not. I am running 7950RPM constantly and am wondering why it isn't at 8100RPM. I have tried looking to see the harness however it does not appear to be there however I could be wrong. I know that it could be the wear ring or the impeller or even the oil but was curious if the absence of the knock sensor could be possible because the search showed me of people stating they couldn't go above 7700RPM.

Well you dont have the update if its not there so its not the issue. If you take it to a dealer and they hook it up to buds you will need the update because it will flash the ECU.

You can see a 150 RPM difference because of weather. Of course inspect the wear ring, prop and oil level as well.

I am not sure if it is there. I don't know where to look really and have searched the forums but no clear pic. I have an idea of the area but am unsure. If anyone has a pic that would help thanks.

If you're getting 7950 RPM then you don't have a problem with the knock sensor update

    Problem areas could be:
    slipping supercharger clutch
    worn wear ring
    damaged impeller
    over filled oil
    boost leak
or you could be riding at high elevation?
