    Boost #'s

So I finally got the PX back after rebuild and been riding the last couple days. The only real change in the motor is 9.5:1 pistons. I am running the Rixa Pro x charger upgrade. Before the rebiuld I would see 13.5 pounds of boost @ 8600. Well the last 2 days I have seen 14.5 pounds of boost @ 8600. I did not think that thing would make that much boost. Would the higher compression pistons help it make more boost. I would think it would be the other way, more compression , less boost.

Pretty good read right here bro, even though its rice rockets. Your motor is tight and you are using top notch pistons

    9.5s all the way

Yes the higher compression plays a big factor in more boost.

I have to respectfully disagree with that statement. More boost increases compression. If a boost gauge is reading from the SC or intake manifold--thats your boost. When the charge enters the combustion chamber the boost--whatever it is will increase compression, not the other way around.

Yes, compression has nothing to do with boost levels. Your engine being newly rebuilt with a tight head would though.

Effective compression ((boost psi/14.7) +1) * compression ratio
With stock pistons mine comes out to 17.75:1

The higher compression gives you more usable off boost power and torque.
