    am i missing something

    i have the coils out of my 95 slt 750 i thought the coils were bad testing around 8-9 instead of the 3 its supposed to be well i said well if they are bad ill do some testing on them so i pulled the plug wires off of them and then tested them and they tested them and they tested at the 3 ohms that they all were supposed to be so my question is with the plug wires in i test out at around 8-9 ohms and with the plug wires off i get like 3.2-3.3 ohms then i tested the wires its self and got 0 ohms so which one is bad the plug boots all test right at 5 ohms so they are good to go if its all together no spark

    From my notes;

    Ignition coils (each)
    Black to Black/White: 0.6 ohms
    Black to Secondary lead: 3.3K-ohms (3,300 ohms)

    Black to Black/White (with all three coils connected in series), but not connected to CDI: 1.8 ohms

    The spark plug caps/boots should measure 5,000 ohms (5.0K-ohms) each.
    Note: Ignition coil primary wires are connected in series.
    If any of the coil primaries is open or shorted, none of the coils may be able to fire the spark plugs.
    Note that the secondary coils are 3.3K ohms -> that is 3.3 thousand ohms ~> 3300 ohms

    yeah all of that is correct but when i test each one with out the plug wire in it i get great results but as soon as i put the plug wire back in and test i get like 9.0K-ohms and thats for all 3 coils

    Sounds about right.

    3300 ohms for the coil plus 5000 ohms for the spark plug cap = 8300 ohms total.

    yeah but the thing is that the book says that it should test out at 3.3k-ohms from the end of the plug wire to the black wire

    So just the plug wires are adding 5K ohms to the coil measurement?

    Are these copper plug wires or carbon thread core resistive type?

    According to the manual, reading is +/- 10%
    8300 + 830 (10%) = 9130 so you're on the high side.
    Why do you need to check it differently from the manual?

    No spark issue can be caused by other things like bad kill switch or LR module. Might want to look at those.
