    2002 Virage Test run...

Well I got the engine and drive system into my 02' Virage from my smashed 00'. Went for a test run last evening.. She ran pretty good. I think the carb still needs a little adjusting, but overall I was happy with it. I got the reverse working on this one and theres a working speedo also.
The sad thing was it only said 42 mph...lol I am hopping thats theres an error here but I think theres not..lol Its not a speed demon...

The rpm's were tached out at 6100, and the speed didn't change from one person to two. It was steady around 41-42mph..

Does that sound accurate to you other Virage owners? I'm not complaining...maybe a little, but I just wanted to see others opinions...

Oh, and the engine overheat warning came on...we wernt on it that long, and it never came on before on the 00' when the motor was in that one...the one day we were riding it..lol

    I thought the 700s ran 6500-6600 RPM. 6100 sounds a little low.

Speedo can be inaccurate if there is a kink or air leak in the tubing to the pitot.

Also check for clog or damage to the pitot feed hole in the fin leading edge.

GPS is the better way to measure speed.

Thats a good question...What is the common RPM range @ WOT for the 700's? How do I get it there? Electrical? Carb butterfly is always open at full throttle....

It should run 6700 rpm. Be carefull running it at 6100,if something is wrong-it could burn a piston.

Looking at your other thread/pictures, that carb has an accell pump !
Does this engine also have one ? Does it work ?

Might try the other carb and see how it runs.
Another low rpm factor is impeller, what part # do you have in there.
