    HELP!!!

Just installed an S3 charger, Fizzle IC and 42's on a buddies 05 RXP. Idles great but @ about 5000 rpm it knocks. Sounds like detonation. Took plugs out and it looks lean. Is it possible we have a bad injector or two? If so wouldn't it be rough at idle? Any help would be great.

    Thanks

At 5k rpms you start boosting and would require more fuel. Might need a RRFPR, just a thought.

I have the same set up on my ski and the 42's are enough.

I always recommend using a RRPFR when you put an external IC. Each ski is different. Not all exactly identical or respond the same way. I like to play things on the safe side more often than not. JMO!

Jim if you go with external you will need a rrfpr. with 42's and stock intercooler you are all safe but with the external you need a rrfpr.

When I was doing my mods everybody including Jerry said that 42"s with and S3 and external IC would be fine. They all said the S3 was the biggest charger I could use before I had to go with a rrfpr. I'm just wondering if the injectors he has are bad or may not even be 42's.

+1 I ran that setup for 40 hours in 50 - 60 degree weather - never ran too lean. I believe that setup + running fine without an RRFPR = should be common knowledge by now.

So should we be thinking we have bad injectors?

I would try to swap stuff out with stuff that I know works good - and go from there.

And, you know, every time I mod my ski - I end up with problems unrelated to the work I just did... Every Time.

+1. Pretty sure if I remember right. I know I ran 38s with a rrfpr for awhile. Was supposed to be the safe setup. All the local guys ran it. Was way lean. I dont know if I checked it with my 42s or not. You should always check your own afr. Every ski is different.
