Unhappy Water in engine compartment RXP 04, seal problem?

    Hi everybody,

I have another problem with my Sea-doo RXP from 2004.
Yesterday the engine compartment was flooded with water. It came from the crankshaft, I think that the seal is gone. Has anyone had the same problem? And is it hard to fix ore is it expensive?
Hope somebody can give me same advice! Thank you in advance!

Best regards Thomas from the Netherlands!

yes, I have had it happen before...
First time my accordian boot was to weak and taking on water during hard acceleration.
So i put a zip tie behind the to create more pressure on the carbon seal/floating ring...
This worked great all last year...
BUT, I had created so much pressure in the carbon ring/floating ring that the C clip wore out the driveshaft grove and the c clip..This let the floating ring slid past the clip and let water in...Resulting in a sinking ski....
Moral of the story= Remove you drive shaft and replace carbon ring, c cli,p o rings, floating ring, and accordian boot.

Not hard to fix at all, but you should have the sea doo tool to remove or you will be punching yourself trying to figure it out...

And take the clip ring out b4 you remove the pump... Yes, lessons learned!!!
